Christina Wong

Christina Wong has over thirty years of experiences in direct social service, higher education administration, social work education and supervision. She works with a broad range of clientele including children, youth, families, and severely mentally ill adult clients in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Since 2002, Ms. Wong is employed by Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency and currently serves as Senior Program Coordinator. She was formerly the Senior Mental Health Counselor for the Children’s System of Care Program. Ms. Wong is also a Mental Health Clinician for the Butte County Probation Department’s Minor Adjustment Program, providing family counseling to the incarcerated minors in juvenile hall and upon release in the community from 2008 to 2019. Ms. Wong is the Agency Field Instructor for California State University, Chico, School of Social Work and other universities. She has experience in writing local and federal grants for social services agencies.

Ms. Wong previously served as the Dean of Student Affairs for Hong Kong Shue Yan College from 1993-1997. She also worked as a Master of Social Work Program Coordinator (Hong Kong Program) for the School of Social Work, University of Alabama. Ms. Wong was a member of the Hong Kong Student Services Association (HKSSA) to promote inter-universities collaboration in Hong Kong and China. Ms. Wong also served as a Selection Committee member for HKSSA Outstanding Services Awards, and Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarships by Student Financial Assistance Agency, Hong Kong Government.

In May 2011, Ms. Wong was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Member to the Board of Behavioral Sciences. She served two terms as Board Chair, and two terms as Vice-Chair. Ms. Wong is the Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee since 2016.

Ms. Wong received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Hull, United Kingdom. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, California Chapter, and volunteered as Region D Director and Chico Unit Chair from 2006-2012.
